This week in maths we have been learning to add. Can you name some of the equipment you can use to add?
Computing, we are again practising how to log on to the school laptops all on our own!
Remember we have to press all three buttons at the same time! When you log on try the games on our blog to practise your maths.
Today we went for a walk around our local area to see if we could see different human and physical features. We walked to the blue ribbon roundabout and saw the garage, trees, leaves and bus stop.
Here is some fantastic writing from 1G.
In Geography the children have been learning about the human and physical features in their local area. The children went on a walk around the area and identified many featues.
What is a human feature? Can you name 5 from your local area?
What is a physical feature? Can you name 5 from your local area?
Can you spot which features are physical and which are human in the picture below?
What a busy day year 1 have had today. We have been so busy training throughout the day.
We worked in teams using our superhero powers.
We worked together to design a class superhero.
We built a superhero den in our teams and told each other superhero stories.
What a busy day! Have a well deserved rest over the weekend superheroes!
In science we have been looking at the human body. We have been learning to label the different parts of the body.
We had so much fun labelling one another and putting together a superhero.
Don’t forget it’s superhero Friday this week, year 1 can come in dressed as superheroes 🙂
In maths today we worked really hard to show how we make different numbers. We used lots of different resources from our classrooms to help us.
We used numicon, number lines, number fans, bead strings and objects.
In assembly this morning, Mrs Harris talked to the children about our school rules.
Following our school rules is very important and it involves showing respect and they are there to keep us safe.
